This course will introduce you to the major aspects of control theory and its application to the design of control systems, and you will develop your skills in use of the standard computer packages for control design. In response to the growing demands of the chemical, oil, aerospace, aeronautical, power and defence industries, control theory has developed into a well established body of knowledge that many engineers need to acquire. Additional areas of application include: industrial automation; robotics; mechanical systems; biomedical control; etc. Assessment methods are: Coursework software or hardware deliverable, Oral and poster presentations, Reports and Written examinations.

Students should have been awarded a Bachelor's degree from Project 211 university with a final overall mark of 80% or better. Preference is given to candidates with 85% or better.

Students must achieve the College requirement in the appropriate English language qualification: Standard IELTS 6.5 overall (minimum 6.0 in all elements); Higher 7.0 overall (minimum 6.5 in all elements).
