It also emphasizes an investigative and empirical approach to the practical problems encountered in experimental and human biomedical science. This MRes Biomedical Research is aimed at students who are undecided on the area or field they wish to enter after graduation. You will develop a background of biomedical research, covering all chemical, biological and physiological aspects. There is a focus on applying an investigative and empirical approach to some of the practical problems encountered in experimental and human biomedical sciences. You will also gain the theoretical and practical knowledge to prepare you for a career in a variety of biomedical environments. This stream provides you with the opportunity to undertake research training with experienced teaching staff in one of the world's leading biomedical research institutions. This programme is designed for students looking to pursue a career in biomedical research, whether in academia, industry or government. The overwhelming majority of graduates, who have wanted to continue on to PhD study, have done so. The programme offers training in a vast array of laboratories across the Faculty of Medicine (approximately 700 world leading research groups) and an opportunity to learn from leaders in the field.
