This course includes performing, composing and studying music of all eras in a lively atmosphere of creative activity and scholarly endeavour. The School is committed to developing its BMus/BA programmes in response to changing educational ideals, evolving needs and expectations of students, and emergent employment opportunities and trends, while maintaining established academic values of intellectual engagement, penetration and rigour. We will continue to offer specialisms in musicology (including ethnomusicology and Welsh music history), composition, performance and related vocationally-oriented fields of study. Students are therefore able to develop their knowledge and subject-specific skills by following individually constructed pathways, based on core understanding but inflected towards study in musicology, composition and/or performance, and/or vocationally oriented study at choice.
