The main aim of the MRes is to strengthen specialist scientific skills in strategically important areas of the UK agri-food industry, through flexible, postgraduate training for people in work. The course is aimed at professionals in the agri-food industry, conservation and environment, farmers, and agricultural policy decision makers, as well as full-time students wishing to pursue a post-graduate degree that culminates in employability in these sectors. This course will retrain professionals to redirect or enhance their capabilities in advisory and policy/advocacy roles, executive management, agriculture and agribusiness consultancy, the agricultural finance sector, land and catchment management agency roles, natural resource management, agricultural education and training and as rural consultants. Full time students will be well-placed for a career in any of these areas. Students will also achieve PgCert award in this course. Students can exit at Postgraduate Certificate level.
