The one key word that could be used to describe the role of adult field registered nurses is diversity – registered nurses who hold adult field registration (and additional registerable qualifications, for example prescribing or teaching) care for the needs of people across the lifespan, including safeguarding the health of mother and baby. You will be able to experience thatdiversity during placements in clinical areas where adult nurses practice which might include: Acute sector general and specialist medical and surgical nursing Critical care nursing (intensive and high dependency care, emergency department, theatres and recovery) Community nursing in the home environment and primary care Adult nursing offers a range of interesting and worthwhile careers in healthcare with opportunities available to develop skills and knowledge in diverse areas, such as: leadership, advanced clinical practice, education or research.
