This programme, currently offered in full­?time mode only, comprises 60 credits (30 ECTS) taken over two semesters. It is primarily intended to offer a high value­?added opportunity for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) to practising translators wishing to gain or update skills in Translation Technology. It allows students to acquire hands­?on experience of a wide range of industry­?standard Computer?Assisted Translation (CAT), Machine Translation (MT), Software Localization, and Terminology Management tools, through both in?depth group work with MA students, and individual study. There will also be opportunities to develop skills in domains such as Public Service Interpreting or digital publishing; alternatively, students may prefer to round out their professional experience with a more academic module in the History and Theory of Translation.
