The degree structure is flexible enough to offer a range of specialism’s and a breadth of choice. The degree is taught by experts in the subjects who aim to be innovative and to meet real needs. Studying Health and Social Care is ideal for students who are interested in careers in environments, such as the NHS, Social Services, independent health and social care, voluntary and charitable sectors Students are sometimes taught alongside those undertaking other related degrees, such as Social Policy and Medical Science and Humanities, and will have opportunities to form professional and academic relationships early in their career. This prepares students to work across professional and organisational boundaries - something consistent with the current UK policy aim to achieve better integration between health and social care. This approach focuses on collaboration, preparing graduates well for the world of work. On completion of this course our graduates have gone on to: Postgraduate Teaching Certificates; Master’s level study in Social Work, Health Promotion, Cognitive Neuroscience and Humanitarian Aid; Civil Service; Third sector organisations; Paramedic science courses; and Gain promotion in their existing workplace.
