The programme is intended for students who wish to develop their knowledge and skills in computing and how this subject applies to education and wider society. The BSc (Hons) Education and Computing joint honours degree will enable students to specialise in both subjects, Education and Computing, developing a range and mix of skills and knowledge which will enhance their future career prospects and prepare them for a role in computing education. In addition, with our unique emphasis on learning in a digital age, students will be well equipped to utilise cutting edge learning technologies central to current trends in education theory and practice. As part of the degree, all students will have the option of studying towards the Cambridge English Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA), at a substantially reduced cost.  The CELTA is useful for those hoping to start a career in English language teaching abroad or in the UK and is recognised world-wide as basic training for employment in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) teaching.
