On this programme you will not only study the principles of engineering but also the many factors that contribute towards the successful development of innovative products, processes or services. In addition to academic lectures, you will attend talks and seminars given by experienced entrepreneurs and business leaders. As your degree progresses, you will be encouraged to put your knowledge and ideas into practice, learning through personal experience while fully supported by your tutors and an industry mentor. Your final year will see you launching and reflecting upon your own start-up, providing the perfect springboard for a prosperous professional future. On completion, you will graduate with a Masters level degree as well as the knowledge and experience of setting up your own business. This programme gives you the opportunity to develop as an engineer alongside having the freedom to innovate, learning the skills of a successful entrepreneur. Studying within the wider engineering community at Exeter, you will gain experience in a wide range of engineering specialisms through theoretical and practical instruction. Taught portions of your course will be delivered through lectures, workshops, tutorials and seminars. These take place alongside student-led learning such as projects and design activities, testing your skills and knowledge and allowing for experiential learning. As you progress you will be given the space to try your own ideas, with assessment focussing on the process of learning as much as whether or not your endeavors are successful.
