The Clinical Pharmacy (Primary Care and Community) programme is part of the Post-registration Training for Pharmacists is supported by NHS England and Health Education England through the Pharmacy Integration Fund. The University of Exeter Medical School and the University of Bath are aiming to improve the standard of clinical pharmacy practice in the community, so pharmacists can participate fully in the transformation of the NHS. It will strengthen and diversify the pharmacy workforce and help to improve patient care. The fund has been set up by NHS England to enable pharmacist and pharmacy technician integration in primary care as part of new multi-disciplinary healthcare teams, making the most of their clinical skills, particularly for the benefit of people with long-term conditions. Our PgCert has been designed for registered pharmacists to build on their medication-related expertise and experience with the aim of developing their knowledge and skills for current and future extended work-place roles. You will already be a registered pharmacist in employment in a UK healthcare setting. This programme will enhance your ability to extend your clinical pharmacy practice within primary care. The optional modules will allow you to personalise your learning for your desired career path. Furthermore, the dissertation stage of the Masters programme will also develop your skills and contacts for research opportunities.
