This course aims to provide you with an understanding of the principles involved in the development and the use of orthopaedic and rehabilitation technology. Technology has always been central to the treatment of patients in orthopaedics and rehabilitation, and the use of technology has never been greater than it is at present. Today you can choose from a large and ever increasing variety of devices. This programme has been designed and written by experts from centres in Dundee and includes up-to-date material reflecting current knowledge and understanding. The MSc course comprises the same four module groups and a project. The academic department is closely linked with the Orthopaedic Directorate of the NHS Tayside, which provides orthopaedic, wheelchair and seating, orthotic and prosthetic specialist services to the City of Dundee and its surrounding areas. The majority of our students are already in full-time employment in a related professional healthcare position. Studying this course by distance learning allows them to gain recognised professional qualifications without having to take a career break.
