Finance can be a fast paced and changing environment. You can learn about the role of finance in business, analytical skills, economics, and accounting. Dundee focuses in particular on how large corporations use their funds to generate income and wealth in the future. You’ll learn how UK and overseas capital markets work in the wealth creation process and understand the context around their importance in the global economy. The weightings allocated to assess coursework and the final examination varies from module to module. Typically 80% is allocated to the final exam but this is less in some modules and more in others. Many BFin students go on to work in the financial services sector either as analysts, fund managers or on the trading floors of investment banks. A large number take professional examinations such as those of the Chartered Institute of Bankers in Scotland or the Chartered Financial Analyst Association.
