专业简介

The Master of Arts (Specialisation) enables graduates to undertake advanced postgraduate coursework study in a Humanities, Social Sciences or Law specialisation. The course has been designed so that students can build on knowledge they have gained through their undergraduate study or gain advanced knowledge and research expertise in a new area of study. Graduates will have specialised knowledge and skills for research, and/or professional practice and/or further learning. This on-campus, 1.5 years full-time (or, up to 4 consecutive years part-time) course is available at Hobart and/or Launceston (not all specialisations are available on both campuses). Some units will be available by off-campus study. Specialisations available are as follows: International Politics Police Studies Public Policy Learning Outcomes Upon completion of Master of Arts (Specialisation) (AQF level 9), students will: Acquire, critically evaluate, reflect and synthesise advanced and integrated understanding of a complex body of knowledge in one of the humanities, social sciences or law disciplines Critically analyse challenging complex problems, acknowledge different perspectives and the ability to apply research principles and methods to advance knowledge in one of the humanities, social sciences or law disciplines. Career outcomes In Australia and around the world, employers are increasingly seeking graduates who can speak and write clearly; who are computer literate and understand how to use technology; who know about other countries, cultures and societies; who can solve problems creatively; and who have developed that flexibility of thought which technical and vocational training rarely encourages. Arts graduates find jobs in, for example, advertising, journalism, the arts, diplomacy, interpreting and tourism, management and administration, and research and publishing.
