Introduction Aberdeen holds a long track record in teaching and researching Forest Management. You gain the core competencies of forestry as defined by the Institute of Chartered Foresters and Environmental Management. You benefit from small class sizes with strong interaction and you visit locations across Scotland. At Easter you take part in a residential field trip. You learn forest mensuration, enviornmental impact, timber harvesting, mapping with GIS, spatical data manipulation, computer based statistics, visual impact of forestry operations and management. Under the supervision of forestry experts you get an excellent understanding of environmental management, environmental service, timber production, community forestry or a combination. You cover core competencies with local visits, field trips and you can get involved in some exciting projects around the world. You can work for specialists organisations working in forestry globally, local private concerns, and as a consultant to organisations and business involved in the management of land.
