Introduction This course offers an induction programme and skills training opportunities for all research students to support their studies and to help with career planning. The School has a strong tradition of success in research with an international reputation in a number of areas including applied dynamics, impact mechanics, engineering materials, sediment transport, communications protocols, and holography. All areas of research in the School are supported by modern laboratories with state-of-the-art equipment and fully networked computing facilities including major engineering commercial software. There is excellent technical support provided by electronic and mechanical engineering workshops.
