Introduction The Centre for the Novel aims to discuss theory and practice of the novel across languages, history and approaches. It brings staff from English, Modern Languages and Creative Writing together. The centre organises events to discuss work, showcase new scholarship and develop new research. Aberdeen is home to the Cambridge Works of Jane Austen and Edinburgh Edition of Waverley Novels of Walter Scott. the centre regularly publish their own work and critical studies of previous novelists including Charles Dickens, Walter Scott, Henry James and others.
