Our ‘Business With’ courses develop broad business skills and also offer a specialist pathway that starts after the first year, giving you an extra edge in employability.BA (Hons) Business with Accounting includes modules that enable you to gain an understanding of accounting methods and theory.Throughout the course there are opportunities for practical learning experiences and problem-solving. Between your second and final years we encourage you to undertake an optional year-long placement within a supportive work environment, or to extend your international experience by studying in another country.Newcastle Business School has joined the top 1% of business schools worldwide by gaining double accreditation from AACSB (The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) – an international hallmark of excellence. In the final year you’ll either undertake a dissertation in an area of accounting or do a consultancy project as part of a team, addressing a genuine need of a client. It’s all part of an internationalised grounding in business and accounting that will prepare you for a rewarding future.The course is covered by the prestigious AACSB accreditation for Newcastle Business School, which was ‘Business School of the Year’ at the Times Higher Education Awards 2015. We’re also undergoing a full re-accreditation process with EPAS who require some of the highest levels of relevance, rigour and internationalisation.All of the Business with courses are 3-year degrees with an optional 4th year between the second and final taught years. This additional year can be spent undertaking a work placement, study abroad or a hybrid of the two. Students who do not take this option will be expected to undertake a final year UG Consultancy Project rather than the dissertation. In doing this, they are then graduating having followed a “real-world” experience as part of their undergraduate studies.
