As an operating department practitioner, you’ll work with surgeons, anaesthetists and theatre nurses to help ensure the safety and effectiveness of every operation.Operating department practitioners are an important part of the operating department team working with surgeons, anaesthetists and theatre nurses to help ensure every operative procedure is as safe and effective as possible for the patient and staff.The course is largely made up of practical placements, however, you’ll also need to understand the background theory behind the operating department, which you can learn in our lectures and seminars.
