专业简介
This course aims to cover the relationship between nutrition and human health. It explores the physiological, biochemical and psychosocial aspects of nutrition, as well as food science and food safety. We will cover the dietary requirements of individuals from pre-pregnancy to old age, the psychosocial factors affecting food choice in modern society and the science of behaviour change, as well as how good nutrition enhances wellbeing and can help manage or prevent disease.You’ll gain hands-on experience of a wide range of scientific techniques, such as sample extraction, purification and analysis. Assessments are designed to mimic real life scenarios, such as analysing nutrient intake from food dairy, developing dietary interventions and designing health promotion campaigns.
