Design and transport lies at the heart of all developed societies and connected urban systems and this MSc offers graduates the opportunity to study the world of complex transportation infrastructures and technologies and develop their specialist design and problem-solving interests. The programme is not focused on any one particular mode of transport; rather, the emphasis is on gaining understanding of complexity, devising strategies for dealing with wicked problems, and developing your technical, practical, creative and professional skills. Each module has an assessment requirement in the form of one or two assignments. Your work will be marked according to how well you achieve the various learning outcomes, which will be clearly set out on all project briefs. Some project submissions are electronic and in these cases you’ll either supply digital assignment files or upload your work onto the University server. Graduates of the course should be prepared for managerial and practical work in the transport manufacturing, transport service and consultancy industries.
