This course accredited by both the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), this practice-led Master’s has been developed in response to the rapid cultural changes within the global construction industry. This exciting course focuses on developing the core skills and competencies identified by the professional bodies for roles as construction project managers, cost managers and quantity surveyors. The course seeks to prepare you to effectively manage projects and the budgets surrounding the development of the built environment. Encompassing physical, legal, economic and technological factors, you should gain an advanced understanding and knowledge of the theory and practice of procurement, construction economics, cost management and best practice project management within the specific context of the construction industry.
The assessment types are varied throughout the course, though most of the modules are assessed by coursework, such as professional reports and presentations. On successful completion, you should have knowledge of: application of systems theory to the management of projects in the construction industry; the legal and regulatory framework within which the construction industry operates; procurement systems and standard forms of construction contracts; health and safety in the construction workplace; and environmental principles and legislation applied to the construction industry.

Students need University Degree with overall 70% or above. For most MBA courses, in addition to the academic requirement a minimum of 2 years relevant work experience is required. Alternatively, Students must have completed HKCEE – Grade C or HKALE – Grade C.
