Civil engineering is all about creating, improving and protecting the environment in which we live. This course supports a career in the design or construction of civil and structural engineering projects.Your studies are underpinned by three core course themes, which are carefully balanced across all years of the course, centred on specific technical knowledge, construction practice and skills development through group project work.We aim to provide an insight into the full breadth of design and construction disciplines that collaborate in the multidisciplinary construction industry. Full-time students also have the potential to benefit from the practical experience brought to the course by part-time students already working in industry.Throughout the three years of study, we will cover the principles and practice of civil engineering within a global context, including structural analysis and design, materials, geotechnics, highways and surveying, construction and project management, hydraulics and water engineering.
