This course aims to prepare you to provide technical and aesthetic contributions to building projects, making sure that designs are buildable, durable, sustainable, economical and easy to maintain. As such, you will cover a broad range of topics and develop skills and expertise important to all construction professions: architectural design, technical knowledge and understanding, communication, problem solving and personal development. We place an emphasis on the architectural design process, the cultural and economic environment in which development takes place, building performance analysis and the construction technologies available to achieve sustainable building solutions. You will also be given a solid grounding in the drawing and modelling of architectural forms, together with the research techniques to assess materials and components.
