专业简介
The 5-year full-time combined degree of Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Business with Honours is offered on the Launceston and Hobart campuses by the College of Arts, Law & Education and the Tasmanian School of Business and Economics (TSBE). A restricted program is available at the Cradle Coast Campus. For further information, contact the TSBE or Arts Student Central.
Course objectives
The objectives of the combined degree are:
to complement traditional studies in humanities and social sciences with a wide range of management, accounting, marketing and business skills;
to broaden the opportunities of Business students to undertake studies in languages and area studies.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the Bachelor of Arts and the Bachelor of Business with Honours (AQF Level 8) graduates will be able to:
Acquire, consolidate, critically evaluate, reflect and synthesise advanced knowledge in one of the humanities and social sciences disciplines and in one of the business disciplines.
Critically analyse and devise an appropriate response to a challenging complex or multi-faceted problem, identify research questions, design, plan and execute a project.
Make evidence based decisions that take account of diverse contexts and constraints impacting on societies and environments.
Communicate complex information effectively in written, visual and oral forms with a diverse range of stakeholders.
Work effectively, responsibly, respectfully and safely in individual and/or team contexts.
Demonstrate self-management, flexibility, initiative and resilience in readiness for diverse workplace demands.
Career outcomes
Graduates of the combined Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Business degree could expect to obtain employment in such areas as accounting, finance, international business, human resources or personnel management, marketing, journalism and public relations, government and teaching.

Admission Prerequisites
If you have not successfully completed General Mathematics TQA 3 (MTG ); Mathematics Methods – Foundation TQA 3 (MTM ); Mathematics Applied TQA 3 (MTA ); or an equivalent pre-tertiary or higher-level mathematics subject, you are required to complete one of the following units before enrolling in Quantitative Methods (BEA140):
Bridging Maths (UPP075)
Introduction to Quantitative Methods (BEA109)
Transition Maths (XAB090); or
Mathematics Foundation (KMA003)
International students who have not completed General Mathematics TQA 3 (MTG ) or an equivalent pre-tertiary or higher-level mathematics subject are required to undertake the unit Introduction to Quantitative Methods (BEA109).
