The MSc in Finance will develop your understanding of the concepts of finance and the role of financial management in a variety of organisations and sectors. You will gain a greater understanding of how finance is central to organisational decision-making by looking at key areas including financial analysis and investment, financial statements, strategic financial management, financial modelling and financial risk management and corporate finance. You will be able to pursue your own areas of interest when taking your option modules and dissertation. As well as gaining a deeper theoretical and conceptual knowledge of finance, this degree will develop your ability to analyse and evaluate financial management problems and make sound strategic decisions in your professional role. The skills and knowledge gained during the course will enable you to enhance your career in finance or move into further study and academic work in the area. By choosing to study by distance learning, you will have the flexibility to fit your study around existing commitments and enhance your career prospects without having to leave employment.

Students who have completed a four-year Bachelor's degree in China, may be considered for entry to a Master's degree at Leicester. Students must have graduated from a 'top 200' university in China, they may be asked for 70% overall if they are applying for an Engineering or Science degree, or 75% for an Arts, Humanities, Law or Social Science degree. They may need to have scores of at least 80% in modules that are particularly relevant to your chosen Master’s degree. The School of Museum Studies requires at least 80% overall. If students graduated from a Chinese university ranked below the top 200 they may require higher scores (80-85%). If students have completed a three-year college diploma from a Chinese university, they will need to take an accepted one-year Pre-Masters course or upgrade their diploma to a Bachelor’s degree before applying for a Master’s degree.
